Core Concepts

Understanding these core concepts will help you get the most out of Cyrus365 Projects.

Projects

A project is the top-level container for all your work. Each project has:

  • A unique name and optional description
  • Start and end dates for timeline planning
  • Multiple task groups for organizing work
  • Optional sprints for agile workflows
  • Team members with specific roles

Tasks

Tasks are the fundamental units of work. Each task includes:
PropertyDescription
TitleA short name for the task
DescriptionDetailed information (supports formatting)
StatusTo Do, In Progress, Review, or Done
PriorityLow, Medium, High, or Urgent
DatesOptional start and due dates
AssigneesOne or more team members responsible

Groups

Groups are columns on the Board view that organize tasks by category or workflow stage. Common group setups include:
  • By Status: Backlog → In Progress → Review → Done
  • By Team: Frontend, Backend, Design, QA
  • By Feature: User Auth, Dashboard, Settings

Sprints

Sprints are time-boxed iterations for agile workflows. Each sprint has:
  • A name (e.g., "Sprint 1", "December Release")
  • Optional start and end dates
  • A status: Planning, Active, or Completed

Tasks can be assigned to sprints, and the Board view shows tasks organized by both sprint and group.

Drafts

Drafts is a special area for tasks that haven't been assigned to any group yet. Think of it as your task inbox—a place for new ideas before they're organized into your workflow.
